Apple Vision Pro users can now more easily discover spatial and 3D content with a dedicated Immersive Video tab in the Apple TV app, introduced in visionOS 2.5, which is now available. This update is part of Apple’s latest operating system release cycle, which includes iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2, and watchOS 11.2, but is notably light on user-facing features across the board. The visionOS 2.5 update focuses primarily on enhancing content accessibility for Vision Pro users.

Previously, Apple’s Immersive Video content, including 180-degree 8K videos with spatial audio, was available in the Apple TV app but lacked a dedicated section, requiring users to search manually or rely on sporadic highlights. With visionOS 2.5, the new Immersive Video tab consolidates all Immersive Video and 3D movie content, making the growing catalog — featuring titles like Prehistoric Planet Immersive and Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room — more accessible and browsable. This change addresses a key usability issue, streamlining the experience for Vision Pro’s spatial computing environment.

Beyond this, visionOS 2.5 includes minor updates such as bug fixes and performance improvements, but no significant new features have been detailed. Notably, there are no changes to Apple Intelligence integration or other ecosystem-specific enhancements for Vision Pro in this release. Other Apple operating system updates, like iOS 18.2’s introduction of Image Playground and Genmoji, do not extend to visionOS, leaving the Immersive Video tab as the primary highlight for Vision Pro users.

For context, visionOS 2.5 builds on the foundation of visionOS 2, which introduced features like spatial photo conversion and an ultrawide Mac Virtual Display, but the 2.5 update is far more incremental. Apple continues to expand its Immersive Video offerings, with recent additions like a short film from The Weeknd and upcoming content such as Submerged and Cillian Murphy’s ‘Dunkirk’ in 3D, signaling ongoing investment in Vision Pro’s content ecosystem.
