Every so often, PlayStation users are graced with a demo worth playing. The latest may fall into that category, with a new PS5 demo now available on the PlayStation Store for one of 2024’s biggest game releases.
Star Wars Outlaws gets a free PS5 demo on the PS Store
Ubisoft recently released a demo for its open-world game Star Wars Outlaws on the PS Store. PS5 players can check out one of the newest games based on the incredibly popular long-running sci-fi franchise at no additional cost. This is a great way to try the new adventure before committing to purchasing the full game.

The Star Wars Outlaws demo allows players to explore the iconic planet Tatooine as the game’s protagonist, Kay Vess. The scoundrel and her cute little companion Nix can pick up contracts on Mos Eisley, play some games of Kessel Sabacc, and explore the desert planet. Throughout this slice of the game, players can face off against the Hutt Cartel, Tusken Raiders, or other threats. Players can also go into space and engage in dogfights.
It should be noted that, unlike many modern PS5 demos, save data will not carry over to the full game. Additionally, the Star Wars Outlaws demo features up to three hours of gameplay.
“Experience the first-ever open world Star Wars action-adventure game and explore distinct locations across the galaxy, both iconic and new,” says the game’s description. “Risk it all as scoundrel Kay Vess, seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.”
Star Wars Outlaws was released for PS5 in August of last year. When it launched, it was met with decent review scores. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 75 across 89 critic reviews.
Star Wars Outlaws isn’t the only game that has recently received a PS5 demo.
The rhythm adventure game Unbeatable now has a demo on Sony’s latest console as well.
